The Spreckels Park White Sox tallied five consecutive extra-base hits Sunday with two outs in the second innings which helped lead to six runs on the way to a 16-1 three-inning mercy-rule win over the tournament host Lathrop White Sox to open the District 67 12U Tournament of Champions at Mossdale Park and run Spreckels Park’s unbeaten streak to 19 games.

Tucker Davidson (4 for 4, two RBI, three doubles, three runs) started the extra-base second-inning extravaganza for Spreckels Park with a double followed by a double from Max Souza (RBI, double, two runs), a double by Adrian Alvarez (3 for 3, five RBI, three doubles, two runs) and triples from Zane Maestas (2 for 2, three RBI, home run, triple, three runs) and Hector Valdez (3 for 3, three RBI, triple, double, two runs). Blake Linares singled in Valdez for the final run of the inning.

Jonah Horn walked to start the Spreckels Park third followed by a third inning Derrick Riley single. Both came in on Davidson’s double and just like the second inning, Souza, Alvarez, Maestas and Valdez ended up reaching and scoring. Jinx Midulla walked and worked her way around to steal home for the game’s final run.

Davidson led off the game with a double and came in on Alvarez’s double. Alvarez came in on a Maestas home run for a 3-0 lead.

Linares started on the hill and gave up a leadoff double to Sebastian Perez who eventually stole home for the only White Sox run. Elijah Arreola tallied the only other hit for the White Sox, also in the first inning.

Linares struck out three before being relieved by Davidson who struck out the first five batters he faced before tagging out the final batter of the game on a groundout. Spreckels Park faces Ripon tonight in a quarterfinal and Lathrop squares off with Tracy in an elimination game. Both contests are at 5 p.m.
