Family, Friends and Players of Spreckels Park Little League,
As everyone is working through the changes that are happening day by day
and, in some cases, hour by hour, I wanted to address some questions that you
may have about the duration of the season.
Per last week's Little League National direction, games can resume in early
April. It is the intention of SPLL to start games on April 7th and keep
the original schedule from that point on, with make-up games in between. This may include Monday
and/or Friday games and games on Saturday, April 11th, May 16th, and May 23rd. If
that cannot be done successfully, we plan to at least give the
minimum games that are required in order to have an official Little League
season. Right now, that number is 12 however, Little League is working to
reduce that number since we have gotten postponed. We realize that
this will look different than usual, but these are certainly unusual
times. That said, we will need to be patient as we all see what the
coming weeks hold.
Leonard Photography has graciously offered to be flexible with our pictures
and picture day is now Saturday, April 11th. The schedule will be out soon! Any
family who has paid online / in advance will still be able to use their credit.
The Ports have delayed their season start and it is uncertain whether this
will have an impact on our April 18th gathering. Fortunately, with
an extended Minor League Season, we could have the opportunity to reschedule
our date if needed. Again, any money that has been collected to date will
be applied towards our future schedule.
Thank you in advance for your patience. We will continue to
communicate with managers, coaches and team parents as well as on social media.
Regards,
Paul Diego
